all of your questions answered . . .

is the pool heated?

very much so!  i keep the temperature nice and toastY when the air outside is cool. when atlanta summer temps really kick in, we put the hose in the pool to cool it off.

what will my child learn?

All children learn at a different rate, but the primary goal of the 7-day class is to give children the confidence and encouragement needed to feel safe and comfortable in the water, while teaching them to propel themselves forward to grab onto the wall and/or reach for the steps if they’re nearby. Those are the key safety techniques we practice repetitively in order to gain mastery.  some students will far surpass the basics and be challenged to the next step, while others will take their time getting comfortable with kicking and reaching.

in the refresher & Strokes class, students will further develop their stroke technique, while also working on diving, endurance, and safety.

will my child have to put his/her face in the water?

yes, on day 1. being comfortable putting your face in the water is a requirement when learning to swim. this is a great thing to practice in the bathtub prior to starting your swim lessons.

where is the pool located?

Coach Allison teaches out of her home in the riverside neighborhood in sandy Springs.

how do i know if my child is eligible for the refresher & Strokes class?

if your child is able to swim across the pool (width or length) on his/her own (doesn't have to be pretty, but they need to be water-safe), they are eligible.

will one session be enough?

one session is the perfect amount of time to prepare your child for the upcoming summer in 99% of the cases. Once lessons end, practicing on a regular basis will be critical in order for them to maintain and build upon their recently acquired skills.

can siblings be paired together?

absolutely.  they can also be scheduled back-to-back (if scheduling allows) if it’s preferred they swim with peers.

i've registered, now what?

be patient; coach allison will reach out to you via email to discuss availability. if you register in late january/early february, please give coach allison a few weeks to perform the mental gymnastics needed to create The schedule ;-)

when does my deposit become non-refundable?

Once you and coach allison agree to a session/time, your deposit becomes non-refundable.

what if the session and/or time i  requested is full?

if the session and/or time you wanted is not available, coach allison will reach out to you.  in most cases, alternative dates/times will work.

what happens if the assigned session and/or time no longer works for me?

Once your session is confirmed, your deposit becomes non-refundable. If you determine that the session and/or time no longer work for you, coach allison will try to accommodate another session/time. there are no promises, though.

IS there a discount for siblings?

Families with more than one child swimming will receive the following discounts // 7-day: 1st child=$450 + each additional child=$425 // Refresher: 1st child=$190/$250 + each additional child=$170/$230

what happens if my child becomes sick during his/her session?

coach Allison will do her best to schedule make-ups for Lessons missed due to illness, but there are no guarantees.

what if we have to miss a lesson due to travel or other plans?

the success of this program is based on consistency and repetition. To get the most out of your lessons it is necessary to attend all 7 lessons. There are no Make-up lessons. if a child becomes ill, coach Allison will do her best to schedule a make-up for that missed class, but there are no guarantees.

i have a question, but don't see it here . . .

email coach Allison at . . . swimwithallison@gmail.com

you'll receive an email back most likely within 24 hours, and then there's a good chance your question will appear here shortly after that.  If you're thinking it, most likely others are too!
